It prevents gaps in legal status and employment by &#8220;bridging&#8221; the time between the expiration of a current work permit and the issuance of permanent residency.<\/p><p>Unlike employer-specific permits, a BOWP is <strong>open<\/strong>, meaning the applicant does not need a job offer or a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to apply.
